Overview
This safari takes you to the foot of Mt kilimanjaro ‘Amboseli National Park’, Lake Nakuru National Park which is one of the world’s greatest bird spectacles. Other than the bird population of different species and especially flamingos that carpet the lake, the park has its fair share of wildlife that includes the endangered black and white rhino and lastly it takes you Masai Mara Game Reserve one of the Kenya’s famous Reserve.
Itinerary
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Amboseli National Park arriving Amboseli Serena Lodge well in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the park, a park famous for its big game and great scenic beauty whose entire landscape is dominated by Mt Kilimanjaro. All meals and overnight at Amboseli serena Safari Lodge. Meal plan: {Lunch, Dinner}.
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive at 6.30am, when you have the best chance to see the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for late breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure. Depart Amboseli in the morning and drive via Nairobi to the floor of the Rift Valley with hot picnic lunch en route to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving for your afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lionhill Lodge. Meal plan: {Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner}.
Depart after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving at the Lodge/ camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive that introduces to this vast game filled reserve. Dinner and overnight at either Mara Serena Safari Lodge or Mara Sarova Game Camp. Meal plan: {Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner}.
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the Big 5 with a possibility of seeing the spectacular annual wildebeest migration that takes place from July through to October .Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or similar The Masai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August.
